Acne scars remaining on facial skin serve as every day reminders of the horrible lesions that once were there. The best approach for treating acne scars is to have it treated soon after it appears. However, there are great dermatological methods for the removal of acne marks that can be performed right in the dermatologist’s office.

One easy and effective way to reduce acne and improve the appearance of the acne marks is to have a dermatologist perform a chemical peel. Receiving routine chemical peels given by a dermatologist coupled with diamond tipped microdermabrasion can tremendously help facial acne. Cystic lesions can also be treated in such a way but best results are seen when the dermatologist applies intra-lesional injections that work on the site of inflammation. Over time, these treatments will lessen the inflammatory process on the facial skin and reduce the flare ups of acne.

Acne lasers are also effective in treating acne scars.  The laser beam administered by a dermatologist is used to kill off the bacteria hidden under the skin, while shrinking pores and glands. The laser also removes the upper level of the skin where most of the acne can be found and tightens the middle layer, leaving skin to look fresher and cleare

Acne lasers, Chemical peels, and Microdermabrasion are all great dermatological methods in treating acne and cystic lesions. To seek the proper treatment, schedule a consultation with your dermatologist.
